OK, Bungie's site didn't say much. xbox.com says the end of this year. Gamersunderground.net says July 1st this year. CV-Games says November 20th. xboxaddicts.co.uk had it listed at 3/28! (i think the site is down now). http://www.gametalk.com/talk/xbox/halo_2/55865928.htm has a poll as to when it is that is spread pretty well. Most places say Q4 2003.
Has anyone heard a reliable source giving the real release date? My guess would be November, but I would love July :) or even March.

Xbox.com official press release says "The game ships at the end of next year."
which they probably mean, end of 2003.

I have herd that Halo 2s relese date is Dec. in time for Christmass when evryone will what it for a
gift.

the confirmed release date of all stores is Holiday 2003. There is no actual date yet because the game is not finished. I know I will want a copy right when it comes out.

I used to use them, back in the day before they even had their 10,000th registered user... yeah, like in the mid-90's. They suck with their idea that advertisements is the answer.
I have since moved on... they blow... There are a lot more hosts out there that won't slather your site with pop-ups and their sh*t.
Oh! And I'm appauled at Bungie for delaying HALO 2!!! Back in 2000, they had delayed the original release of HALO... all because Microsoft bought Bungie. Now they are repeating their antics!!! Microsoft should have a talk w/ them and inform them that waiting until XBOX 2 is whack!!!

Halo 2 is set for 1st Quarter 2004 because Bungie wants to make a masterpiece. So quit complaining!

You are correct in the observation that it is a user on the bungie net. BUT. If you check out the info about the user, you will see that it is a bungie employee.
And as several other posts state.
The main thing is that it is going to be a great game. All too many other developers rush the release sate, thus ending with a less than perfect(and up to expectations) game. When the original game is as well made and as vast as Halo(mutters a silent praise under my breath), it would be a CRIME to make the same mistake.
Lets instead use the time to go through Halo a couple of extra times on Legendary, and joy ourselves with the anticipation of Halo 2.

One can only complete a game so many times on maximum difficulty before it gets old...even(dare i say it) Halo....well not boring but predictable. even if bungie are creating another holy grail of games then it shouldnt take this long surely...im telling you halo 2 better be good (well of course its gonna be good)...they should make a halo film if you ask me...the the fall of reach book was so good

Hey I heard that Halo2's release date is in early 2004 in like January, and boy I can't wait cause i'm always glued to the xbox playing halo. I'm good at since I've been playing it for at least 7 months

well...halo2 will be released april 4 2004 for sure...i read it when i was looking for advanced copies on the net...and i went to costco wholesale website and there is was "halo2 will be released april 4 2004...kk anyways thats ok but hopefully it might come out sooner

I have Halo 2 on reserve, the store that i reserced it at says that it'll be in early Dec. but who knows.
The longer they take on the game, the better it'll be. Just a hint, if your smart, you'll guys will reserve it so you'll get a copy of it. Because there saying that the first day it's released that it'll be sold out as soon as it hits the shelves.

The release date is still scheduled as we originally listed 28th March 2004.
We no longer do release dates on the site though as we found this sucked up too many resources due to the sheer number of games coming out.

The date is Februrary 2 2004, i know this becuase i work at bungie, and trust me i tryed the game out and it is awsome

Halo 2 is actually slated for the release date of March 3rd 2004. You'd know this if you checked up frequently with retails and manufactuears about when they have been told to be ready. BestBuy, EB, S|ETC., GameStop, Circuit City, and KB·Toys have all said it is March 3rd, and make you reservations as soon as possible because they have limited shipments and most have already been completely reserved up. 2bad4those5fingers

I have just reserved my copy of Halo 2 this morning. The data base at the store (software etc.) listed the release date as Feb. 3rd. Whether this is right or not I dont really care, either way....I have a copy waiting for me in the first shipment
