As always I refuse to pay for music and a big proponent against Satan, oops I mean the RIAA. Anyone know if the new p2p program win MX is safe to use? Or else its back for mirc for me...

Don't really know if it's "safe", but enought people use it on a regular basis, so it can't be too bad. I know people that prefer to use it.

Get Kazaa Lite K++ ...It blocks IP ranges that belong to the RIAA, and you can update these as often as you like. No spyware, and it connects to Kazaa networks. A lot more features going with this one as opposed to the original Kazaa or WinMX.

Another I have been using for a while is Shareaza...it connects to 3 or 4 different networks (including morpheus) , and it works a little different than any of the others I have ever used. Instead of just downloading the file from start to finish, instead, it downloads bits and pieces from multiple users...;so you could be getting the end of the song, program, video, whatever...while you are getting the beginning of it from another user. Fast too.

Hope that helps

I've been using WinMX for over a year, and I like it. I tried kazaa once a few months ago and it came with a ton of spyware (this was probably not the "kazaa lite" that has been mentioned here). I'm pretty sure WinMX does not come with any spyware, but I run Ad-Aware periodically to get rid of spyware anyway (I definitely recommend Ad-Aware). Also with WinMX (unlike what people here have said about kazaa lite) you may be at risk if the RIAA gets your IP address. Although I've only heard of the RIAA targeting kazaa.

If you get WinMX, just make sure you set it to "Secondary connection" (not primary). Primary connection means that lots of other users will route their traffic through you.

I've never had to pay for K-lite K++ , I would say you are maybe going to a spoofed site, a.k.a rip off. WinMX never has and never will have spyware, end of story. Oh and btw, Napster 2.0 is retarded for those of you that may be wondering. Bad UI.
