Simpsons has been way over-rated for the past three seaons. At least Futurama is funny.

What about South Park???
I like Family Guy and the Simpsons, but I think the Simpsons is losing its edge.

Simpsons is definitely not what it used to be. The writers are all smoking the crack rock now and it's just . . . weird . . . some times. Still, though, it's worth watching for the occasional gem.

Simpsons has definately lost is edge... They are running out of ideas. Family guy is hilarious but later on gets predictable and stuff.. Simpsons is the classic and always will be!

I think the Simpsons just needs a few new writers to bring in new ideas. I'm not saying get rid of the old writers, but I think they need another (younger) writer to give them their edge back. If they do that, they'll be #1 in our hearts once more...

Just for those of you who don't know, the Simpsons gets a new set of writers every season. That's why every season seems so different and why season 11 really SUCKED. But they've pretty much explored anything that could be funny.

I can't imagine what it will be like when they will finally decide to stop making new simpsons episodes or stop runing them all togther. It wold be weird not having the show on anymore because i've grown up watching it and even though they mostly show re-runs, I still enjoy watching them.

I got milk up my nose laughing at Stewie's Russ Meyer-era-camp "sexy parties" this season.
I know it's fashionable to criticize the Simpsons, especially vis-a-vis Family Guy, but you have to recall that the Family Guy's 'surprise factor' is inflated because it's a relatively new show, having enjoyed maybe 3 seasons total. The Simpsons has managed to remain quite funny after over a decade of shows.. quite the feat to remain fresh for so long.
To quote Stewie -- "oh, it's so fashionable to joke about Leno. But come on -- the man gets up there every night with new material!"

I love the simpsons. My friends and I watch it almost every time it is on (Used to be able to watch it 5 times a day with our sat. dish). It is the longest running animated sitcom, I do believe. I will watch it until the very end, guaranteed.

I think the Simpsons get better with age. They are much more satirical towards real world events than before, when Bart's antics at school were the center of the show. Family Guy is like the opposite. It's completely mindless slapstick comedy yet still just as funny and sometimes better than the Simpsons. I hope Fox keeps Family Guy. Those are probably my 2 favorite TV shows (But I'm really into "Scrubs" now).
