Miss Cleo is finally going down. Unfortunately, she is just the "figurehead". The Fort Lauderdale based company is run by two guys. If she was really psychic, they would have seen this coming.

My mom decided to call in for one of those "free readings" and the free reading time is took up by telling you disclaimers and telling you about all sorts of stuff, and then it says "If you would still like to have your future read, please note you will be charged" or somethiung like that. She is the most annoying person ever!
Mark, I agree so much, if she were really psychic, she woulda saw this one coming. <G>

I wondered when that time will come! Finally an end to those commercials and e-mails! Well, about why they may not seen that comming, supossedly most psychics can't use their "gift" for self benefit. But definetly mostly it is because they are fake, fraud. It's an entertainment bussines mostly, anyway!!!

If you get bored at work, as I often do, check out The Smoking Gun (www.smokinggun.com) which happens to have her actual birth certificate to view.

The company was grossing over $400 million a year! There must be some really desperate people out there. The only legit psychic I know of is Sylvia Brown [as seen on Montel]. No one can afford her because she charges almost a grand for a 30 minute session.

I remember seeing a report about this on CNN: they announced the lawsuit with the heading "Should've Seen It Coming". I thought it was funny, but I guess you had to be there...

It is no good to generalize in the way Evan did. The problem with psychics and astrologers is not they are fake, or fraud (most of them), the problem is that good ones get a bad impression from people 'cause of people like "Miss Cleo". BTW, asdtrology is a tool, like a calculator to sum, or a pseudocode to program coding. I beleive in the pseudocode, not in astrology ;)

I think Rafael is getting "astronomy" and "astrology" mixed up. One is definitly a science and the other is not.

Andrew, that's my point. I know the difference between astronomy and astrology (heck! I always wanted to be astronomer...). And that is why I reffered it as a "tool", like tarot, not as a science, like most people think.
Another think is I beleive in respecting everyone who is and think different than me. But respecting doesn't mean beleive or do what the other do, not necesarely. Don't people like to hear music, or eat, while studying, or programming? hear music while excersicing, while medditating? but music don't tell you how much reps you have to do, it just help you concentrate, for example. Astrology, as I think, has been misinterpreted by the time, as a science, when it could be just a tool for some individuals in the long past.
Had not someone heard the last (eh.. about a few years ago) about "seeing" the future in a cup of coffee? Did that explain what I mean? ;)
good day

First off - psychics can't usually see anything about their own fate - so no, they would not have seen this coming. Though they should have known since they knew that they were running a total scam operation.
True psychics have to be registered and they do have the ability to see things that the rest of us can't. There is something entertaining about astrology, though I'd never base any of my decisions on the fact that I'm a capricorn with an aquarius ascendent, but it's entertaining to read horoscopes or look at my natal chart.
What is sad is the fact that people would call up these numbers and expect to know their future and that some how the psychic will be able to fix the problems in their lives. People should know psychic hotlines are crap - they're just like the 900 numbers we saw when we were kids that said we could be directly connected to santa.
Oh and here's a tip - if you ever get your palm read and the person actually examines the lines on your hand - they are a fraud. True psychics supposedly just hold your hand to get a psychic impression from you and make calls to your spirit guides. These spirit guides are analagous to guardian angels... or so I've heard. Can't confirm any of it, but like I said it exists because it's fun and lots of people find it interesting.
